My rating: 4 of 5 stars
The story telling is clear and simple. I enjoy the fact that there are many short stories instead of one long one. The wording keeps me interested.

Clasic Elite's newest book is a collection of some of their most beautiful patterns. Flipping through the book, I noticed that all the patterns are easy to knit. The book is broken down into three groups- hats, mittens, and gloves; scarves, cowls, wraps, shrugs, and capelets; and blankets, bags and toys. Personally, I think I will get the most use out of the hats and scarves sections. Each one is cute and would be great for a knitted gift.
There are plenty of patterns for each skill level up to experienced. Each pattern is well described and clearly written. Overall, I love the look of the book and plan on using it often. I just can't say that about many of the knitting books I've purchased over the years.

Female genital mutilation is something that is so inconceivable for me since I grew up here in America. Soraya makes it incredibly real in her book The girl with three legs. I found myself emotionally entranced by her descriptions of life with her family. It was easy to understand how she could love her mother after doing such a thing since she was able to describe how her mother was forced into the same type of relationship. I found myself cheering and crying with her throughout the book. She adds a personal experience to an impersonal topic. I truly loved reading her story.
